On August 2, 2019 my adult son, Daniel Ryan Capes, died after battling a rare form of cancer.  He was 36 years old. For that reason, I have not posted on this site.  While he became gravely ill and died, I focused on him and my family and did not spend any time with this site.  Instead, occasionally, I would post something on Facebook to help me process my grief. Over the next few weeks I will post here what I posted there.  In time, I will return to my thoughts on New Testament.

Here is my first post from August 4th, two days after he died:

I am the father of three boys. I will always be the father of three boys though one I no longer see. Two days ago my son, Daniel Capes, 36 years old. breathed his last and passed from this world to the next. He was a courageous warrior in his battle with cancer. He is my hero. I can’t tell you how proud his mom and I are of him. He’s pictured here (far left) with his brothers, mom and me last Christmas. He is also pictured with Jenel Capes , his wife of 13 years, and his son Tobias Alexander Capes , 4 years old. A service in celebration of his life will be held Saturday August 10th at Ecclesia Houston, 1100 Elder St. at 11 am.

Since this ordeal began for us in late March, I have not been able to post. We have been overwhelmed. Over the next few days and weeks I will post pictures of my beloved son. We have been so grateful for the support of so many. Their stories are yet to be told.

    All strength to you
